Along the water, in a canoe, boat or paddle…

The Tarn gorges are among the largest and most spectacular in France.

It is from the river, by canoe, boat, or paddle, that you can best appreciate the beauty of the landscapes formed by these majestic limestone rocks.
From the many water sports centres located in the vicinity of the hotel, you can go on a trip along this magnificent emerald-coloured river, the Tarn, at your own pace or in a more sporting way, depending on the route you choose.

Available from April to September, this activity is a must-do during your stay and will give you unforgettable sensations…

On foot, equally spectacular hikes...

The many marked trails that criss-cross the region make hiking one of the key activities of the Gorges du Tarn.

You will be able to leave on foot directly from the hotel to discover one of the 3 causses which overhang the valley: indeed, the Méjean, the Causse Noir and the Causse de Sauveterre offer, each one with its own identity and a rare diversity of landscapes, infinite possibilities: from the vertiginous ledges of the Méjean where you can observe the majestic flight of the vultures, to the troglodytic hamlets of Saint Marcellin, passing by the forests of the Causse Noir, the landscapes are all more breathtaking than the others.

Discovering
the Aveyron and Lozère

Remember to order your picnic basket the day before at the reception.

White water and other thrills…

vacances-au-calme-bord-du-tarn

The narrow canyons and numerous tributary rivers of the Tarn have allowed the development of numerous white-water activities for thrill-seekers: rafting, abseiling under waterfalls, natural tobogganing, vertiginous jumps, water hikes.
What better way to clear your head!

Those who prefer to get a bit higher can also go paragliding, climbing or via-ferrata, while others can bungee jump or go caving.

Millau and its surroundings remain the capital of outdoor sports, with internationally renowned spots, but also accessible to all, thanks to the many qualified instructors who can supervise your outings.

Family outings

Les gorges du Tarn offer endless
possibilities for family holidays

Farniente

Wading by the river and observing the aquatic fauna in detail, learning to fish for tadpoles… the little ones can spend hours there while the older ones bask in the sun by the pool or enjoy the most beautiful natural counter-current swimming in the river!

A little activity and sightseeing

Outside the hotel, there are many activities: canoeing (for the young, some bases even offer canoes with transparent bottoms), paddle, easy hiking (the troglodytic villages at 1h30 walk from the hotel for example); but also visits and medieval animations in the Templar cities, the Gévaudan wolf park (the real one! ) or even the velorail: pedaling with four or five people in a carriage on a disused railway line, while criss-crossing a bucolic landscape, is an experience you will certainly remember!

For the more adventurous, canyoning, water trekking, paragliding, and even bungee jumping (107 meters!!) are guaranteed to give you a thrill.

Local market

Once the day is over, all you must do is stroll around one of the local farmers’ markets (or not!) to bring back a souvenir of the best local products of the region and taste a succulent aligot (yes, yes…aligot is a speciality of Aveyron!!)

In spring and autumn

When the temperatures are not suitable for a dip in the river or the swimming pool, you have plenty of time to explore the region from top to bottom and discover all its treasures!

The first of these is the unmissable Gorges du Tarn – Gorges de la Jonte circuit (with its exceptional colors in autumn!), which you can do by car or motorbike.

This is also without doubt the best time to hike and contemplate the spectacular landscapes tinted with the colours of spring and autumn.

Why not push a little further? The roads are not very busy at this time of year, and it is a real pleasure to ride them. Even if you don’t have a specific goal in mind, you’re bound to come across a village, a landscape, or an incredible viewpoint…
