A week ago, during the night of August 4 to 5, 2025, at 3 a.m., a fire of criminal origin broke out at Hôtel de la Muse. An investigation has been opened. Three separate fires were reported in the hotel’s
three parking lots. Twenty vehicles were destroyed by the flames. The fire then spread to the roof of the building, causing the complete destruction of the roof, the 4th floor, and much of the 3rd floor.
Thanks to the exemplary responsiveness of our team, all guests were quickly evacuated and taken to the community hall in Le Rozier, made available by the local municipality.
No injuries were reported. This is an immense relief for us. The safety protocol was applied with rigor and efficiency, in perfect coordination with emergency services.
A BIG THANK YOU!
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to the management of this fire, and extend our most sincere thanks:
To our staff, for their dedication, support, and mobilization.
To our guests, for their calm and understanding.
To the sub-prefect, who handled the crisis with great effectiveness and humanity.
To the firefighters and gendarmes for their determination in protecting people and property, and to the Millau Investigative Brigade.
To the municipalities of Le Rozier and Mostuéjouls, as well as their respective volunteers, for their immediate support and availability.
To Canoë Le Rozier and Canoë La Barbote companies for providing shuttles between the hotel and the community hall.
To everyone who sent us messages of support via text, email, and phone—your words touched us deeply.
To our family (special mention to our son, the only one slightly injured) and friends for their comforting presence and attentive support.
And finally, a heartfelt thank you to the Curvelier and Gineste families for their unwavering support over the years. Thank you for always being there when we need you most—especially in difficult times.
AND NOW
The hotel was secured as of August 7 and is closed until further notice. A team is currently handling cancellations and refunds. In this regard, we kindly ask our guests for a little patience and understanding, as we are dealing with a large number of requests simultaneously. Please know that we are doing our utmost.
For over 20 years, this beautiful region has welcomed us. We strongly condemn these malicious acts, which harm the beauty and safety of a territory to which we are deeply attached.
That is why we are now dedicating all our energy to reopening the hotel as soon as possible—bringing Hôtel de la Muse back to life, even more beautiful than it was in recent times.
We will continue to keep you updated on the situation and the reconstruction progress through our usual communication channels.
Because it’s not just walls that need rebuilding—it’s a story we want to keep writing, together.
See you soon,
Sandrine & Jean-Philippe Bonneville
